Telecoms company Telstra has appointed former Standard Chartered Bank technology executive Patrick Eltridge to be its new CIO.
Toon Martens has become group CIO at Aviapartner, the airport logistics operator. Previously he was director global IS supply chain and procurement for Anheuser-Busch InBev.
Wim Claeys has joined the Benelux private banking group of Petercam as director of IT, having previously been head of strategic programmes for financial services company Euroclear.
CIO Jacques Godet has been promoted into the role of chief of operations and IT at banking group BNP Paribas Fortis, after Lieve Mostrey left her role for Euroclear, where she has become the executive director, chief technology and services officer.
Former head of service operations at Vodafone UK Peter Billiau has become CIO at the Bruges-based Dexia banking group.
Gil Guibert has been promoted into the CIO position from director of IT operations and infrastructure at Auchan, the hypermarkets, real estate and banking group.
International retailer Metro Group has made Silvester Macho CIO to lead a new central unit for Metro AG and Metro Cash & Carry.
Dick Dijkstra has become CIO at retail chain C1000. He joins from Staples International, where Kevin Milliken has been appointed VP information systems Europe.
Frans van Duivenboden has been appointed CIO at Mediq, the pharmaceuticals and medical equipment supplies company, based in Eindhoven.
European online hotel reservations specialist Venere.com, recently acquired by Expedia, has appointed Philippe Vimard to lead its technology department as CTO, based out of the company’s Rome office.
IT company Gen-i has appointed former Health Board CIO Jo-Ann Jacobson as its health business development manager.
Klas Bendrik has moved from being CIO of doors manufacturer Assa Abloy to become the new CIO at the Volvo Car Corporation.
Stein Tumert has been promoted into the role of group VP and CIO for the airline catering, hospitality and logistics company Gategroup, having been CIO for the restaurant chain Burger King Corp EMEA and formerly a senior IT executive at sports equipment manufacturer Adidas.
Zurich Financial Services Group has made Markus Nordlin its chief IT officer, responsible to the company’s new group head of operations, Kristof Terryn.
Auctioneer house Christie’s has appointed Karina Buch as CIO, who was previously working as director of technology for Oracle in Denmark.
Richard Boynett has joined the Long-Term Savings Division of financial services group Old Mutual as CIO, having held the same post with Electrocomponents, a global distribution organisation.
The airline EasyJet has appointed Trevor Didcock as its CIO. Previously he led the IT function at a number of organisations including the AA, the RAC and most recently at Homserve.
Mike Seery becomes the group CIO for the Telegraph Media Group after a 10-year career with The Economist Group as CTO and CIO.
Mark Pickering has left his position as CIO for the energy wholesale firm EDF Trading and has been succeeded by Jeremy Lock, previously head of IT for trading and sales at British Energy.
