Global CIO appointments: Asia-Pacific

Australia

Sydney Water has lost CIO Tim Catley to APN News & Media, where he becomes group CIO.

Andy Weir is the new CIO at Commonwealth Bank of Australia's Bankwest subsidiary, replacing Tony Clasquin, who resigned late last year. Weir, a veteran of Bankwest's former owner, HBOS, was previously head of change management at the unit.

Telstra's CIO John McInerney has resigned and is replaced by acting CIO Ashley Lazaro, who is overseeing the merger of the company's IT and network operations.

Motoring services company NRMA has hired John Hanna as CIO.

Former Integral Energy CIO Georges Cascales has been appointed chief information and technology officer at Queensland Urban Utilities.

India

CN Ram has joined the steel, shipping and construction conglomerate Essar Group as CIO. Ram, the former CIO of HDFC Bank, had spent the past two years supporting a rural BPO, RuralShores Business Services.

HR services provider Ma Foi Randstad has named Radhakrishnan Krishnamurthy as its CIO. Krishnamurthy was previously VP operations and CIO at Krestas Systems.

Rohan Deshpande has stepped into the newly created post of CIO at ad and PR agency Ogilvy India.

Malaysia

Prudential Assurance has appointed Jeffrey Yem into the new role of CIO.

Thailand

Charamporn Jotikasthira, CIO of Siam Commercial Bank, has been appointed president of The Stock Exchange of Thailand.
