David Lister has moved to National Grid
David Lister
International utility company National Grid has hired David Lister as global CIO. Lister joins from Royal Bank of Scotland, where he had been group CIO and chief architect since March 2008. Prior to that Lister was CIO at Reuters for almost four years, putting in place a global technology infrastructure and cutting IT costs as part of the company’s “Fast Forward” business transformation programme.
Darryl West
Following the merger of Lloyds TSB and HBOS at the end of 2008, Darryl West has become group CIO of the Lloyds Banking Group, reporting to new director of group IT and operations Mark Fisher, previously executive director at RBS and CEO of ABN Amro. Heather Jackson, former CIO of HBOS, is leaving and will not be replaced.
Colin Cobain
The former Tesco CIO has joined HM Revenue & Customs as a non-executive director. He is also currently non-executive chairman of Safe Surgery Systems and interim group CIO at brewer SABMiller.
Paul Domnick
International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed Domnick as global CIO. He was previously group CTO and deputy head of IT for Zurich Financial Services.
Denis Edwards
Manpower has appointed Edwards as the new US-based global CIO at the recruitment company following the departure of Rick Davidson at the end of 2008.
Dr Christoph Klingenberg
German airline Lufthansa has promoted Klingenberg to head of information management and CIO from April 2009.
Gareth Lewis
The former group CIO of Centrica has left following a restructure that will see IT responsibilities devolved to the CIOs in the company’s individual business units. Lewis is now doing strategy work for Maxxim Consulting.
Simon Moorhead
The Bank of England has appointed Moorhead, previously at Reuters, as CIO.
Bob Rickerts
Property consultancy DTZ Holdings has appointed Rickerts, formerly CIO of Barclays Global Retail and Commercial Banking, as global COO.
Mark Ryland
The London Stock Exchange has hired Ryland as CTO of Baikal, its forthcoming pan-European dark liquidity trading venue.
UK government department HM Revenue & Customs is looking for a new CIO to replace acting-CIO Deepak Singh.
Executive search company Gerard Daniels is recruiting a CIO for an Aberdeen-based oilfield services contractor with a hub office in Europe, turnover of $1.5 billion and a global workforce of 9,000 employees.
