A reloaded web presence

Recent CIO appointments from some of the world's leading websites include:

Hotels.com has appointed former Travelocity and Lastminute.com CIO Dr Michael Remedios as its new head of technology.

Web portal AOL Inc has named Alexander Gounares as CTO. He comes from Microsoft, where he was a corporate VP and CTO for online services.

The ex-chief architect at Moneysupermarket.com, Gareth James, has become CIO at retail online services company The Hut Group, where he also joins the board.

Online travel, hotels and rentals service Priceline.com has named Michael Diliberto as its new CIO, with his predecessor, Ron Rose, joining Dell as SVP of Dell.com.

Igor Vaks, former CIO at Experian Consumer Direct, has become operational chief at DebtGoal, the online personal debt management firm, where he'll take the COO's chair.

Mobile music start-up Omnifone has hired BSkyB's former CIO Jeff Hughes as its CEO.
